Some of these colored lenses are so made that it gets difficult to differentiate between the natural eye color and the artificial color. The colored area of the eye, known as iris, gets a very natural look. One can only recognize it through the center of the eye i.e. pupil.

The contact lenses used for theatrical or costume purposes fall under the group of opaque tints. These contact lenses give the person’s eye a look of a zombie or a cat or a jaguar or even an alien.
